Formation of the 3rd branch of the CCA at Teaching hospital Karapitiya was held on 18th of August 2011 .It was initiated by Dr.Upul Ekanayake and Dr.Iresh Jayaweera.Event was blessed by the presence of Dr.Samadhi Rajapakse.Fourty new members were present on that day.Officials were selected and a display of Sacred relics of Lord buddha and Rahulo thero along with Rewatha Thero occurred after the meeting.

Building a shrine room in the cancer unit premises.
Building Hospice for the terminally ill and the day therapy patients, a land in the hospital premises will be provided by the director.
Home visits by a team-to care for the terminally ill.
A pinkama(meritorious activity) at the Yatagla Raja Maha Viharaya-where a descendent bo tree of Jaya srimaha bodhiya is situated with the involvement of patients.Date on 15.09.2011 at 6.30 pm.
